Prof. Dr. Ir. Widodo Wahyu Purwanto, DEA. (Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia)
Prof. Purwanto is a lecturer of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (UI) since 1985. In 1993, he became a Deputy Director for Research and Science, Joint Research Program between PERTAMINA and University of Indonesia on Natural Gas Conversion, Dept of Gas and Petrochemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UI and became a Head of Chemical Reaction Engineering & Natural Gas Conversion Lab., Dept of Gas and Petrochemical Eng., Faculty of Engineering, UI. He also became a Head of Sustainable Energy Research Group, Dept. Gas and Petrochemical Eng. FTUI in 2004. Prof Purwanto also acted as the Head of Chemical Engineering Department and Full Professor – Faculty of Engineering UI (Sustainable Energy). He graduated with a BSc in Chemical Engineering from ITS. He gained a Master also in Chemical Engineering from Ecole National Superieur d’Engineurs de Genie Chimique (ENSIGC), Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INP Toulouse), France,. He hold a doctoral programme in Process Engineering from ENSIGC, INP Toulouse, France.
Dr. -Ing Evita Herawati Legowo (Swiss German University (SGU), Indonesia)
Dr. -Ing Evita Legowo was the former Director General of Oil & Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. She held the Expert Staff to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources between 2006-2008 and served as the Head of Center for Oil and Gas Technology Research and Development (PPPTMGB) at LEMIGAS (Institute for Petroleum and Natural Gas) Indonesia. She received a Dr. Ing. in Oil Chemicals from Technische Universität Clausthal
Dr. Matthew Dornan (Australian National University (ANU), Australia)
Dr. Dornan is a Research Fellow at and Deputy Director of the Development Policy Centre in the Crawford School of Public Policy. His research focuses on economic development in Papua New Guinea and the Pacific islands, and includes work on infrastructure access, development and regulation; aid from ‘traditional’ and ‘emerging’ donors; renewable energy; regional integration; climate change adaptation financing; and labour mobility. Matthew received his PhD from the Crawford School and has a background in public policy and economics. He previously worked across the Pacific islands as part of the Australian aid program, and has consulted for various development partners in the region.
Dr. Sharifah Munirah Alatas (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Malaysia)
Dr. Alatas, a Malaysian national, lived, and was educated in the United States of America. She received her doctorate in History from Columbia University, New York City in 1997. Dr. Alatas’ main area of research lies in Foreign Policy, India/South Asia, Politics of Freshwater Scarcity, Environmental Scarcity & Degradation. Her writings have focused on comprehensive security, foreign policy, freshwater scarcity and conflict studies, mostly relating to South Asia/India, and Southeast Asia/Malaysia. Dr. Alatas is presently a lecturer at the National University of Malaysia (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM). She was Managing Editor of an academic publication, the Journal of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (JDFR), as well as Editor-in-Chief of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations Occasional Papers Series. Some of her previous appointments have included Director of Academic Programs, Nilai International University College, Malaysia, Director of Research and Publications, Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, and Political Analyst at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), Prime Minister’s Department, Malaysia.
Dr. Luky Agung Yusgiantoro (Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), Indonesia)
Dr. Yusgiantoro is a Senior Advisor for Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC). He is currently the Vice President Management Representative of SKK Migas (Special Unit of Upstream Oil and Gas of the Republic of Indonesia). Prior to working at SKK Migas, he worked with the state-owned company gas. He is currently an associate professor at Atma Jaya Catholic University. He holds a PhD in Energy Economics from the Colorado School of Mines, Colorado (USA). He also completed the Regular Education Program of the Institute of National Defence of the Republic of Indonesia (LEMHANAS) and has been invited on numerous seminars on the energy sector. He has also been involved in a number of studies from the National Energy Board of Indonesia (DEN).
Dr. Elena Reshetova (National University of Singapore, Singapore)
Dr. Reshetova joined the Energy Studies Institute as a Research Fellow in July 2017. Elena has several years of experience researching natural gas market development in Asia and Europe, policy-making in the oil and gas industry in East Asia, ASEAN and North America, and the evolution of national energy security policies. Previously, she worked with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and research institutes in Russia, the United States, and Singapore. She holds a PhD in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (NUS) and an MA in International Affairs from Boston University.
Dr. Nattapong Puttanapong (Thammasat University, Thailand)
Dr. Puttanapong is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University. His main research areas are economic modeling, energy and environmental economics and international trade. Dr.Puttanapong has been collaborating in developing the economic models for policy analyses with many institutes, including the World Bank, ADB, OECD, ILO, Thailand’s National Economic and Social Development Board and Thailand’s Ministry of Finance. Also he is currently conducting the research with JICA and JETRO. He served as the member of working staffs to the Deputy Prime Minister in 2008 and to the Minister of Communication and Information Technology during 2014-15. Dr.Puttanapong was a member of the executive board of the Economic Society of Thailand during 2014-2016. He earned Bachelor degree in engineering in 1999 and was awarded the Royal Thai Government Scholarship to study at Cornell University, where he received Master of Public Administration in 2003, Master of Science in 2005 and Ph.D. in 2008.
Dr. Inka Yusgiantoro, BSE., MS., MSE., MA. (Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC), Indonesia)
Inka Yusgiantoro is the head of the Supervisory Board for the Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC). He is currently Senior Executive Analyst in the Strategic Committee and Research Center at the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan/OJK). Inka also holds teaching position at Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya Master Program in Financial Risk Management. Prior to that, he is Research Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and investment banking professional in New York City and Singapore. Inka received his doctoral and Master of Arts degrees from Cornell University (USA), Master of Science degree from Columbia University (USA), Master of Science in Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Engineering degrees from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (USA).
Dr. Chairul Hudaya (Universitas Indonesia, Indonesia)
Dr. Hudaya earned his bachelor degree at Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Indonesia (UI) in 2006. After graduation, he served as a lecturer assistant at the Division of Electric Power Engineering Universitas Indonesia for 1 semester. He received a scholarship funded by Korean Government under Graduate Scholarship for excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) Program at Department of Energy Systems Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea. He focused his research interest on Nuclear Safety Analysis and completed the program on February 2009. On January 2017, he was promoted as Assistant Professor (Lektor) at Department of Electrical Engineering UI. On April 2017, he and his student Fadolly Ardin received the First Prize of Pertamina Idegila Energy Competition for category of Innovative Business Ideas. Furthermore, on May 2017 Dr. Hudaya was awarded the First Prize of Excellent Lecturer in Universitas Indonesia, representing UI to the national-wide competition.
